The Body Shop released a new range of makeup removers some time last year and the line had two eye makeup removers - the Camomile Gentle Eye Make-up Remover and the Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover. I needed something to remove my waterproof mascara so I picked up the Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover.
It is a typical waterproof eye makeup remover with a oil + water content that has to be shaken before use. Unlike many others, this eye makeup remover is colourless throughout and does not contain a blue component. I thought that was rather nice because I don't really want to get colouring into my eyes while trying to remove coloured products from my eyes.
This remover is supposed to be "suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers" so I guess that it is meant to be very gentle. I do not have sensitive skin nor do I wear contacts but I do find that this is one of the most gentle waterproof eye makeup removers that I've tried. Because you're cleaning off mascara, it is inevitable that some of the remover get into your eye and I've had experiences of really bad stinging before. I've been using this remover consistently for the past few months and I've never experienced any stinging.
I usually soak up a cotton pad with the product and hold it to my eye for about a minute before wiping it off with one strong swipe. I find that this is not sufficient to get rid of all the waterproof mascara completely and I do have to go back in with a couple more swipes. You need to hold the cotton pad soaked in the remover to your lashes for at least a minute. Otherwise, you will have a hard time removing the mascara and you will have to wipe at your lashes repeatedly. This will probably result in you losing some eyelashes so I will advise you to skip this remover if you do not have the patience for it.
The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover comes in a 150ml bottle which means that it is not a carry-on option. I think I would have preferred it to come in a 100ml bottle so that I can bring it on a flight. Packaging wise, I love the spout of the bottle. It gives you so much control on how much product you want to dispense and it keeps the area relatively clean.
Overall, I think The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover does a good job in removing my waterproof mascara and I really like how gentle it is! I do find that it is a little time-consuming to hold the cotton pad to my eye but I don't mind it too much.

Review: SEPHORA COLLECTION Express Cleansing Wipes
I had forgotten to bring my makeup remover on one of my vacations last year and I went into Sephora with the intention to get the SEPHORA COLLECTION Triple Action Cleansing Water but they were out of stock of the 150ml version so I picked up the Express Cleansing Wipes instead.
The SEPHORA COLLECTION Express Cleansing Wipes comes with a plastic lid over the adhesive packaging and that keeps the sheets moist for a longer period of time. It comes with 25 wipes and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sheet itself is actually bigger than a regular face wipe. The picture below shows half of the sheet. I would have preferred the sheets to be a little more moist but the size of the sheet did compensate for that and one sheet is all it takes to remove the makeup on my face.
I think it did a good job in removing the makeup on my face but it struggled a little with waterproof mascara so I would advise you to use an eye makeup remover to remove your eye makeup and use the wipe only for your face. It does leave a little residue on your face but it does go away pretty quickly. I haven't actually used a face wipe that doesn't leave any residue at all so I guess it's pretty normal, especially for a makeup removing wipe.
I just want to mention that I usually use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup and it gets all my makeup off. I love using cleansing oils and there is really nothing much that can compare to their makeup removing properties. I understand that there are a lot of people who use makeup cleansing wipes to remove their makeup before using a regular cleanser to remove any residue and that is perfectly fine. I just prefer to remove all my makeup before I use my regular cleanser to make sure that I get all the gunk off my face.
Regardless of how you remove your makeup, makeup removing is one of the most important steps in your skin care regime so do put some time and effort into it! Do you have a favorite makeup removing product? Do share them with me!

Review: SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
The SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover claims to be a "do-it-all formula" that not only removes your makeup but also to moisturize and promote lash growth as well as natural cell renewal. That's a lot for an eye makeup remover, isn't it? I've been using the product for quite awhile now and I don't think it's particularly moisturizing and I most definitely haven't noticed any lash growth.
The SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is a typical oil + water formulas which is meant to be shaken gently before use. I'm not really a fan of such formulas as the product starts to separate as I'm pouring it onto a cotton pad and I always end up with unequal amounts of the oil and water after some time.
I usually concentrate the product on the centre of the cotton pad and it has to be enough to cover my entire eye. I use one cotton pad for each eye and I hold it against my eye for approximately 20 seconds for the product to work its magic.

The product does remove a good amount of makeup but it isn't as effective on waterproof mascara as I would like it to be. It can remove all my eye makeup in one swipe if I only put on one coat of mascara. However, if I layered more coats on mascara on, I will need to go over my eyes a few more times to remove all the mascara and that's not something that I'd like to do. Your eye area is extremely sensitive and you can do without any excessive tugging.
The SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is not the best eye makeup remover that I've tried and I will not be repurchasing it again. It is very gentle but I prefer something stronger to remove waterproof mascara more efficiently. It may work for you if you do not wear too much eye makeup but for me, my quest for the most efficient waterproof eye makeup remover continues...
